Caucus

Thank you Norfolk!

Saturday, Feb. 28, the NDTC held its annual Caucus and elected nine residents to serve as delegates/alternates for the Democratic State Convention in May. Dozens turned out - many new faces! Candidates running for local and statewide election also made their pitches to voters. Congratulations to this year's delegates (five of whom are first-timers!): Birch-Duggins-Warf, David Kassay, Kathleeen Kassay, Joann Kelly, Pamela Russell, Thomas Nernay, Susan Savoy, Patricia Sawayer, and Adam Sucher!

Living our values

The NDTC unequivocally condemns political violence, and all violence, of any kind. We are committed to open, civil discourse without fear of retribution, retaliation, bullying or intimidation, either online or in person. We believe that the respectful sharing of ideas, perspectives, and lived experiences offers the promise of a safer, more prosperous, and fully equitable society for all. We ask all Norfolk residents to remember that we are friends and neighbors first, with shared goals for a peaceful and civil community.

WELCOME FROM THE CHAIR

I am glad you’re here. It tells me that you are considering ways to get involved, to lend your voice to the ever-growing chorus of Americans saying, “It's time to do something!” You’ve come to the right place.

My family moved to Norfolk in 2019. I love our town and its community spirit. I’ve met wonderful people, many of whom I now call friends. We don’t agree on everything, but we all want what is best for the citizens of Norfolk, and for all Americans.

The chaos, cruelty, and daily attacks on literally all aspects of American life will impact us for decades. It’s incumbent upon us all to speak up and speak up loudly. Here at home is the place to start. I hope you will join us.
