Walking the Walk

Literally.

Members of the NDTC knocked on doors this weekend to canvas for Tom Melville, candidate for 9th Norfolk State Representative. Response was overwhelmingly positive, as more and more Norfolkians demand a full-time representative for our district who is committed to unity, civility, and action. L to R: Susan Savoy, Liz Sucher, Louise Lawson, NDTC Chair John Bowman, Anita Mecklenberg, and Paula Green.

Caucus

No kings/Vote early Norfolk Oct. 17!

Each time we gather in Norfolk Center to participate in the National No Kings Protests, we break attendance records. Hundreds of our friends and neighbors are showing up to say enough is enough. Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 17, and make your voice heard. It's up to us to stop the corruption, cruelty, injustice and inequality. And make your plan to VOTE! Our right to vote is under assault. Exercise it now to save our democracy. It could not matter more!

living our Values

We unequivocally condemns political violence, and all violence, of any kind. We are committed to open, civil discourse without fear of retribution, retaliation, bullying or intimidation, either online or in person. We believe that the respectful sharing of ideas, perspectives, and lived experiences offers the promise of a safer, more prosperous, and fully equitable society for all. We ask all Norfolk residents to remember that we are friends and neighbors first, with shared goals for a peaceful and civil community.

WELCOME FROM THE CHAIR

john bowman-colin

I am glad you’re here. It tells me that you are considering ways to get involved, to lend your voice to the ever-growing chorus of Americans saying, “It's time to do something!” You’ve come to the right place.

My family moved to Norfolk in 2019. I love our town and its community spirit. I’ve met wonderful people, many of whom I now call friends. We don’t agree on everything, but we all want what is best for the citizens of Norfolk, and for all Americans.

The chaos, cruelty, and daily attacks on literally all aspects of American life will impact us for decades. It’s incumbent upon us all to speak up and speak up loudly. Here at home is the place to start. I hope you will join us.
